Red Bull have revealed further details of the ‘Max vs 100’ event which will see Max Verstappen take on 100 rivals in go-karts.
Verstappen will start at the back of the field and have 30 laps to overtake all his rivals. Crucially, each rival will be eliminated “when the rear of Max’s kart is ahead of the front of theirs”. This suggest that if Verstappen dives down the inside of a rival and runs wide they will not be allowed to re-pass him.
Another unusual feature of the race will see Verstappen have radio contact with all 100 of his rivals.
Every driver in the race will also be allowed to use a single ‘shortcut’ on the lap. Verstappen can only use his in the second half of the race, the others can only use theirs in the first half.
Red Bull say the drivers will be provided with identical karts with no modifications permitted, and will compete with a minimum weight of 85 kilograms.
