Commonwealth Games LIVE: ‘Grey area’ of rules disqualifies Aussie cycling hope from bronze match; Bueschkuehl, Delta leap into long jump final

Executive general manager of performance at Aus Cycling, Jesse Korf, has just spoken about the Games’ decision to disqualify Felicity Wilson-Haffenden and Sophie Edwards from the women’s individual pursuit.

With Edwards not fast enough for the final, Korf said the team were satisfied with the decision to qualify her for having “excessive” padding on the inside of her helmet. However, the team were frustrated with the decision to disqualify Wilson-Haffenden from the bronze medal race later today.

“What happened is, Felicity was seen this morning by the medical team after having genuine shoulder discomfort and mobility issues,” Korf said.
