In short:

Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen will announce the expansion of a solar scheme in a bid to slash the up-front cost of installing systems for businesses.

Residential solar installations have been hugely popular but appear to have peaked, while commercial installations have lagged behind.

What’s next?

Mr Bowen will also ask Australia’s energy watchdog to ensure network providers approve commercial and industrial solar at a faster pace.
