1.89 lakh children to be administered polio drops in Visakhapatnam district on June 28
Officials to conduct house-to-house visits on June 29 and 30 to immunise the children who missed the vaccination on Sunday

Officials have been instructed to ensure that children travelling are immunised with polio drops at transit booths set up at bus stations, railway stations and other public places in Visakhapatnam district.

As many as 1,89,712 children aged below five years have been identified for the Pulse Polio Immunisation drive in Visakhapatnam district, scheduled on Sunday. The district administration has arranged 1,062 Pulse Polio booths, 62 transit booths and 94 mobile booths for the successful conduct of the programme.
Collector M. Abhishikt Kishore issued instructions to all departments to work in coordination and ensure that every child below five years of age is administered the oral polio vaccine. Adequate vaccine stocks, staff and other essential facilities should be made available at every booth, he said.
The Collector instructed the officials to ensure that children travelling are also covered through transit booths established at bus stations, railway stations and other crowded public places.
He directed officials to conduct house-to-house visits on June 29 and 30 to identify children who missed the vaccination on Sunday and administer the polio drops.
