AFL LIVE: Cats flip the script to snap Melbourne’s MCG winning streak

Geelong skipper Patrick Dangerfield has played down a groin injury that hampered him during the Cats 20-point win over Melbourne, but conceded he would probably need scans during the week.

Dangerfield left the field during the second quarter and was taken down to the rooms for treatment after suffering the ailment before half-time.

The Cats were cautious with the veteran during the third quarter, keeping him from the field until 10 minutes until the final change. His running looked to be hampered when he returned to the action.

Dangerfield said it took time to warm up again after he had left the ground.
