Another Championship transfer: Max Bird has switched Bristol City for a return to Birmingham as he joins on a three-year deal.
It’s everyone’s favourite, “an undisclosed fee”, but the 25-year-old midfielder – who was on the Blues’ books when his age was in single digits – who will take on the No 18 shirt vacated by Willum Willumsson.
Bird, who played more than 200 times for Derby across two spells, “can contribute at both ends”, says his new boss Chris Davies. “He can break up attacks and win the ball back, but he can also create scoring opportunities and contribute offensively with the way he passes forward.
“He gives us versatility in an important area and has a really good profile for what we need. We’re delighted to have him on board and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
