Delhi high court allows Sonam Wangchuk’s shift to private hospital as fast enters fourth week

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered the immediate transfer of activist Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, amid his ongoing hunger strike over the NEET paper leak. The court directed Wangchuk to abide by medical advice. The Centre said it had “no objection” to the transfer but urged he remain under continuous medical supervision. Russia says ‘in touch’ with India after missile strike kills 4 Indian sailors off Ukraine

Russia said it is “in touch” with its partners in New Delhi after four Indians were killed aboard the MV Golden Leo off Ukraine’s Odesa coast, following a Russian missile strike. India summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires over the incident and condemned the attack, saying targeting commercial shipping and civilian crew members was “deplorable.” One of the victims was identified as 26-year-old merchant navy officer Akhil Joyan from Kerala. E20 petrol may hit older vehicles’ mileage by up to 5%, but engines safe, govt tells Parliament

The government informed Parliament that E20 petrol may reduce fuel efficiency by around 3 to 5 per cent in some older vehicles originally designed for E10 fuel, but there is no evidence of widespread engine damage. Minister of State for Petroleum Suresh Gopi said fuel economy is influenced by several factors. The government said there are no plans to return to E0 or E10 petrol. Read full story.
