How is the championship fight most likely to turn out over the remaining races? Steve Rogers assesses the chances of each of the leading drivers.
I can see several different scenarios:
50% – The balance of performance is largely unchanged from the fist half of the season and Kimi wins (covers just holding on to domination).
20% – McLaren’s Zandvoort updates confirm them as the car to beat and Norris puts in a champion’s display to defend his title.
10% – Ferrari find a consistent window and become the car to beat but ‘Ferrari’ it away with mistakes and baffling strategies (Kimi wins)
8% – Ferrari find a consistent window and become the car to beat and Hamilton continues his first half form to win
2% – Ferrari find a consistent window and become the car to beat and and Leclerc finally finds consistency to back up his speed5% – Kimi has a Piastri run of form and Russell gets out of his funk to win
5% – 2010-level of chaos and we go into the last race with several of the above still in it.
As I like an underdog, I went with Leclerc.
