Document 63 – 2026 Belgian Grand Prix (FIA)
The Belgian Grand Prix stewards handed Ferrari a US$30,000 (£22,300) fine of which US$10,000 (£7,440) is suspended for the unsafe pit release incident which saw Lewis Hamilton hit a Ferrari mechanic during the Belgian Grand Prix.
2026 Belgian Grand Prix – Race Report (McLaren)
Oscar Piastri: ”We had good pace today, especially in the first stint, and the podium wasn’t out of the question, which is a positive we can take away. However, it was certainly not a straightforward race for us. The damage we sustained after the contact with Charles Leclerc just made things much more difficult as we were losing a few tenths per lap. I struggled for the rest of that stint, and while we compensated a little for it in the second stint, the race was tougher than it needed to be.”
Into the Ardennes (Aston Martin)
Lance Stroll: ”Our pace was pretty much where we expected it to be today. We knew this track was always going to be difficult for us and it was a tough race from the start. Towards the end I started to feel something with the gearbox, so we retired the car to investigate it. Hopefully we can be a bit more competitive in Hungary and have a stronger weekend there.”
Câmara impressively seals back-to-back sweep at Spa for Invicta (F2)
‘Rafael Camara was made to work for his second victory of the season, putting in a mature display to win the Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race. The Brazilian driver had to manage losing his lead at the start, a Red Flag stoppage and challenges from his rivals to seal the win – with Invicta Racing winning both races at Spa for the second consecutive year. ART Grand Prix driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak achieved his maiden Formula 2 podium in P2, with Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov in third.’
León disqualified, Beganovic penalised following Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race (F2)
‘Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps, Noel León has been disqualified while Dino Beganovic has been penalised. During the race, it was alleged that a non-operational person was using a headset with a microphone fitted in the pitlane during the Red Flag period, contravening Article 21.5 and Appendix 5 of the FIA F2 Sporting Regulations. The Team representative explained that the person concerned was a team guest who had inadvertently taken the wrong type of headset. As it was established that the guest was associated exclusively with Car 5, the Stewards determined that the disqualification should only apply to León.’
Rivera wins with charging drive at Spa (F3)
‘Ernesto Rivera was unstoppable on Sunday, claiming the Feature Race victory with an impressive drive to the top step. The Campos Racing driver started from fourth on the grid, but was patient in the early stages before picking off his rivals to move into the lead past halfway, and was uncatchable from there. Hiyu Yamakoshi claimed P2 for Van Amersfoort Racing, while Freddie Slater wound up third in the Trident, as he cut the gap to Ugo Ugochukwu down to a single point in the championship.’
Turoboyski and Piatek crowned first FIA Arrive and Drive European champions on home soil (FIA)
‘Two new names have been etched into the FIA Karting history books this afternoon as Polish drivers Kacper Turoboyski and Maksymilian Piatek conquered the Autodrom Słomczyn, masterfully racing to home victory to conclude the inaugural Arrive and Drive European Championship and in so doing securing their places at the 2026 Arrive and Drive World Cup in Malaysia later this year.’
