In short:

Human rights groups have accused Israel of committing a war crime after Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was killed in a strike in southern Lebanon.

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch say their investigations show Khalil and her colleague, Zeinab Faraj, were deliberately targeted and that efforts to rescue them were hampered.

The IDF says two Hezbollah operatives were the targets of the operation.
