HT: Germany leads Curaçao 3-1 at the break
The minnows gave Germany a hell of a fright there.
But it is Germany who leads 3-1 at half time.
They have been dominant. They have deserved it.
But Curaçao have had their moments, and nobody from the island will ever forget Livano Comenencia’s for as long as they live.
Still a long way to go for them to make more moments, but at half time, Germany are back in control.

45+5′ Germany add a third from the spot
Cool, calm and collected by Kai Havertz.
Fast feet at the start of his run up, then a slow step and a side-footed finish from the Germany number nine.
Easily done.
Germany will be a lot happier going into half time with a two-goal cushion.
He’s just rolled it in. Lovely.

45+3′ Penalty Germany!
Felix Nmecha is clipped in the penalty area.
It looked like a penalty in real time, the referee was well-placed.
Riechedly Bazoer is protesting his case, but he lunged in and there was clear contact.
Nmecha made sure the referee was aware of it but there’s no question it’s a penalty.

45+2′ Curaçao chance!
That’s nice!
Curaçao moving the ball up field after Germany wrongly appeal for a throw in.
Sontje Hansen gets up field, weaves around and then fires a shot along the ground towards goal, but Neuer makes a comfortable save.

45′ HEROIC DEFENDING FROM CURAÇAO
Brilliant blocking!
Brilliant, backs against the wall defending!
Brown, Pavlović, both have fierce drives that are blocked by Curaçao defenders.
There will be four additional minutes at the end of the first half.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:47am
45′ Curaçao defends a couple of corners
Nico Schlotterbeck is the target both times and both times the defence stands tall.

38′ Germany back in front!

A brilliant corner from Brown.
Another clear header from Nico Schlotterbeck.
And this time it’s in the back of the net.
The Curaçao defence looks stunned.
But they had been warned. Nobody tracked his run – Livano Comenencia just losing him in the chaos of the corner.
Relief in Germany.

35′ Chance Curaçao
Juninho Bacuna is almost blocked by the referee on the edge of the penalty area, but gets past him, out-muscles his defender and powers a shot over the bar from distance.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:35am
33′ ANOTHER BRILLIANT BLOCK!
Deveron Fonville this time!
The pass to Leroy Sané in the penalty area was perfect, inch perfect through a maze of legs.
He shoots back across him but it’s a lovely block once more by the Netherland-born defender.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:33am
30′ BRILLIANT BLOCK!
Livano Comenencia with a last-ditch block as Germany once again builds nicely at the back.
The ball fell to Aleksandar Pavlovic who sends a shot goalward with serious intent, but Comenecia makes a last-ditch diving stop.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:32am
29′ Chance Germany
Jamal Musiala wins a corner and the Curaçao defenders celebrate like they’ve scored.
Schlotterbeck is the target again, and he does meet the ball, but heads wide.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:31am
28′ Chance Germany
Great save!
Nico Schlotterbeck heads the ball towards goal from a free kick, that was sneaking under the cross bar but Eloy Room makes a great save.
It came from a Jamal Musiala run that saw him blocked off illegally just outside the penalty area on the right side.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:26am
23′ Penalty shout for Curaçao!
Jürgen Locadia goes down after racing into the penalty area!
It’s never a penalty, but a lovely run.
It’s time for a drink, I’d imagine in the bars of Berlin the beers will be flowing quite a bit at the moment… if anything just to dull down what they’ve just seen.
I bet they’re absolutely swimming in it in Curaçao though…

21′ CURAÇAO LEVELS! CURAÇAO LEVELS!

Curaçao are back on level terms!
Livano Comenencia with a piledriver of a shot past Manuel Neuer!
MY GOODNESS!
The ball fell nicely for him after a nice piece of build up play, but the shot itself was a monster, powering past Neuer into the far corner.
All of Curaçao is up, roaring in delight.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:23am
20′ Chance for Curaçao
That’s lovely from Curaçao!
Leandro Bacuna’s shot wasn’t the best, slicing away and high over the bar.
But the build up was great, Livano Comenencia breaking down the left side and looking up before crossing towards the distinctive barnet of Tahith Chong.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:21am
I bet our seats are better anyway…
Morning Simon! Lovely wake up strike! Poor goalie unsighted as it curled around a pair of defenders. Here we are up early doing the “full Gianni”, watching every game – without the need for an expensive jet paid for by overpriced tickets?
– Big Ben
Welcome Big Ben – we can compare notes on how we are staying awake later in the tournament.
But goals like that are enough to widen the eyes first thing in the morning, that’s for sure.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:19am
16′ Chance Germany
The Bacuna brothers, Juninho and Leandro, combine to get Curaçao out of the danger area.
That came after Nmecha had another chance to score, this time squaring the ball into the penalty area where the Blue defence holds firm.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:17am
14′ Chance Germany!
Florian Wirtz this time, from the left side, cuts inside onto his right foot and powers a shot just past the far post from the left corner of the penalty area.
We’re quarter of an hour in and Germany could be four or five goals up already.
Curaçao simply hasn’t had a sniff – Germany hasn’t given them one – they’re holding the minnows at arms length and pinching their nose, so dominant are the four-time champions.
To be honest, it’s almost bullying.
Mon 15 Jun 2026 at 3:15am
12′ Chance Germany!
Nmecha again!
A frankly exquisite clipped ball forward from Aleksandar Pavlović, taken down like a dream by Nmecha.
He slips as he is swamped by a flurry of blue shirted defenders but still gets a shot away that is well saved.
