One-way traffic system around Hyderabad’s KBR Park from August 18

One-way traffic system would be implemented around KBR Park, Hyderabad, from August 18, 2026, in view of the ongoing construction of flyovers and underpasses as part of the H-CITI project.

Traffic arrangements

Hyderabad Traffic Police announced on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) that lane markings and lane changers at required locations would be arranged. Other measures that would be taken towards smooth commute includes making necessary route changes in Google Maps to assist people in planning their journey and deploy traffic police personnel round-the-clock (24×7) at key locations. 

Addressing a press conference in the city on Tuesday, the city Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said that traffic signages would be placed at strategic points.

The police also plan to continuously monitor the route through Integrated Command and Control Centre/CCTV network, and use drone-based monitoring for real-time assessment.

Two trial runs

They have conducted trials on April 5 and June 21 to assess traffic flow, lane discipline, congestion points and commuter movement. Based on the observations, necessary modifications were included before implementing the one-way traffic movement system. 

Appeal to KBR Park walkers and visitors

KBR Park has a considerable number of regulars in the morning and evening hours. The police urged walkers and visitors to park vehicles only in designated parking zones and adhere to the revised traffic flow during morning and evening peak hours.

Avoid wrong side driving

The police appealed to people to avoid driving on the wrong side of the road or against the designated traffic flow, even during night/off-peak hours, and not park vehicles on the wrong side of the road, on bends, or in a manner that obstructs traffic, creates bottlenecks, or blocks emergency movement.
