Road rage involving two private buses; drivers, conductors arrested

The Kapu police in Udupi district arrested the drivers and conductors of two private buses involved in a road-rage incident near the bus stop at the Kapu Hosa Marigudi underpass on Monday.

In a press note, the police said the drivers and conductors of the two buses, named Sandesh and Anand, clashed over bus timings after the two vehicles hit each other around 9.30 a.m. The two buses operate between Udupi and Mangaluru. The Kapu police rushed to the spot and arrested bus drivers Ramesh and Abhishek, and bus conductors Vijaykumar and B. Harish Hegde.

The four were booked of offences under Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 194(2) (two or more persons fighting in a public place and disturbing public peace), 292 (public nuisance), 324(4) (mischief), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police said.
