BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran, in a social media post on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), contended Tamil Nadu Minister for Social Justice Vanni Arasu had mistaken the NCC slogan ‘Jai Hind, Sriman!’ for ‘Jai Sriram!’ and made what he described as “anti-Hindu comments”.

Mr. Nagenthran said the Minister had mistaken the slogan raised by NCC cadets in a school function recently and made certain comments, which “exposed the Minister’s hatred against Hinduism and the BJP”. He also claimed the Minister was unable to distinguish between the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the Scout movement.

Mr. Nagenthran urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to intervene and restrain his Ministers from making “anti-Hindu comments” among the students, who were to be raised in the spirit of equality and fraternity.
