A leadership challenge in the UK could be imminent as the Prime Minister’s principal rival, Andy Burnham, returns to parliament. 

Mr Burnham won more than 50 per cent of the vote in a by-election in Makerfield.

But Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to fight for his job.
