Daniel Ricciardo: ‘The car I probably loved the most was 2016. By then, that was year three of that era, so development was pretty good. The cars were narrow, they were small, they felt more like a go-kart where you had room on the track to like move around and get some clean air and launch overtake. We’re not braking right at the apex of the corner. That was the coolest, I felt probably the most comfortable racing that car.’

‘The weekend of the 54th ADAC 24h Nuerburgring kicked off on Thursday afternoon amid typical Eifel weather. After rainy conditions at the start of Qualifying One and numerous spins, there were some fast lap times on a dry track midway through the session, before heavy rain and even hail set in toward the end. The first benchmark time of the weekend was set by the number 80 Mercedes-AMG with a lap of 8:14.957 minutes. The defending champions in the number one Rowe BMW followed in second place, 3.112 seconds adrift. Third fastest was the number three Verstappen Mercedes-AMG ahead of the number 99 Rowe BMW.’

‘While the majority of the mainstream attention has been on Max Verstappen, in his highly anticipated N24 debut, the four-time Formula 1 world champion is not being made available to the media this weekend, which is understood to have be a contentious topic within the press corp, particularly the number of F1 journalists who are covering this event specifically because of the Dutchman’s appearance.’

‘First of all, you have to get the power. You can’t get the power with less than a 2.5 or a 2.6, so you’re talking about 2.6 to 3.0 litres. Then, having a 10 percent (energy split), you will get to the 880 horsepower, but then the car (combustion engine) will be about 650 horsepower.’
TV audience dips for Indy GP (Racer)
‘The end of the 85-lap race featured a peak audience of 890,000 viewers from 6:45-6:57pm, and despite the drop in year-to-year broadcast consumption, Fox has maintained an average of 1,141,000 viewers across the six opening races.’
