I actually liked Valencia, and I’m not a fan of city circuits generally.

The sequence of corners towards the end of the lap was fantastic.

Las Vegas Grand Prix could be recognised as annual event through ’37 (Las Vegas Review-Journal)

‘At Tuesday’s Clark County Commission meeting, a resolution is up for approval that would recognise the F1 race as an annual event through 2037. That would be an extension of the county’s previous recognition that ran through 2032.’

‘The four-time Formula 1 world champion got a baptism by fire of sorts in Thursday evening’s Qualifying Two, which marked his first night laps of the Nordschleife. ‘Yesterday there were a lot of changing conditions and for me, the first time in the night, in probably the worst possible conditions with the rain and fog coming in,’ said Verstappen. ‘But at least I got a good first idea of what to potentially expect in the race, which was good as well.”

• 45 years ago today Carlos Reutemann took his final win in an acrimonious Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder, while Arrows mechanic Dave Luckett was fortunate to survive being hit by one of his team’s cars at the race’s original start (another mechanic died earlier in the event after being struck by Reutemnann’s car in the pits)
