Ford ‘not losing sleep’ over later Hypercar testing start (Sportscar 365)
‘It’s interesting (that McLaren will begin testing their WEC Hypercar three months earlier) but not very. I always think, from my design background, the longer you can spend designing a car, doing the CFD and optimising it virtually, the better product you should have, in theory.’

- 30 years ago today Jimmy Vasser won the US 500, a rival race to the Indianapolis 500 run by CART which its teams entered due to a political row. A formation lap crash involving Vasser and several others marred the race. Meanwhile Buddy Lazier won the Indy 500.
